New scanner could help surgeons remove cancer more precisely

NCT ID NCT06915454

Summary

This study is testing a new high-resolution PET-CT scanner that creates detailed images of removed tumors during surgery. The goal is to help surgeons see if all cancerous tissue has been removed while the patient is still in the operating room. Researchers will compare these new images with standard pathology results to see if the scanner provides accurate information. The study involves 50 adults with solid tumors who are already scheduled for cancer surgery.
