Summary
This study looks at fluid and tissue changes in the belly of people with a life-threatening infection called peritonitis, caused by a burst colon pocket. Researchers will measure 92 inflammation-related proteins and analyze gut bacteria. The goal is to better understand why this serious condition happens, not to test a new treatment.
