First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at whether placing a small compress under the plastic connector of a child's IV tube can prevent pressure sores. Nurses in the pediatric ward noticed these sores forming and started using compresses as a simple fix. The trial compared this method with standard care in 360 children aged 1 month to 18 years to see if it reduces skin injuries.
