New stitching trick may strengthen dental implants

NCT ID NCT07330232

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested whether a special stitching technique (periosteal sutures) helps bone grafts heal better during dental implant surgery in the upper front jaw. 40 adults who needed both an implant and a bone graft took part. The main goal was to measure the thickness of the new bone around the implant using special X-rays. No direct benefit was expected for participants, but the results could improve future dental implant procedures.
