New hope for advanced colorectal cancer: does adding chemo to surgery improve survival?

NCT ID NCT02758951

First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving chemotherapy before and after surgery (plus heated chemotherapy during surgery) helps people with colorectal cancer that has spread to the abdomen lining live longer compared to surgery alone. About 358 adults with resectable cancer will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to see if the combined approach improves overall survival and delays cancer return.
