First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at medical records from 22,000 adults with diabetes who had major surgery in Danish hospitals between 2017 and 2023. The goal was to see if doctors and nurses followed official guidelines for giving insulin when patients' blood sugar was too high. The findings will help improve care and reduce complications like infections and heart problems after surgery.
