Gum disease linked to immune blood marker in new study

NCT ID NCT07628803

First seen Jun 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at 160 healthy adults to see if the severity of gum inflammation (like gingivitis or periodontitis) is connected to a blood test value called the Pan-Immune-Inflammation Value (PIV). Researchers measured gum health and compared it to PIV from routine blood work. The goal was to understand the relationship better, not to test a treatment.
