New balance training cuts fall risk for stroke survivors

NCT ID NCT07077837

First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding a foot-sensation training exercise to standard balance therapy could help people with hemiplegia (weakness on one side after a stroke) improve their balance and reduce falls. Thirty-four adults aged 45-65 who had a stroke more than six months ago took part. The results showed that the special training helped improve balance and muscle strength, which may lower the risk of falling.
