Summary
This study followed 37 healthy adults running an ultratrail race to learn about their training habits, muscle function, and how uphill and downhill sections affect performance. Researchers took blood and urine samples, measured muscle strength and size, and used accelerometers to track activity. The goal was to better understand what happens to the body during extreme endurance events and how men and women may differ.
