New coil aims to seal brain aneurysms safely

NCT ID NCT07464847

First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at how well a special coil called the Penumbra PC400 works to close off medium-to-large brain aneurysms (bulging blood vessels). About 100 adults aged 18 to 80 with either burst or unburst aneurysms will receive standard coiling treatment. Researchers will track safety issues like stroke or death and check if the aneurysm stays closed for up to 18 months.
