This study compared two ways to manage pain after total hip replacement: a newer ultrasound-guided nerve block (PENG block) versus standard surgical infiltration. The goal was to see which method reduces the need for strong painkillers like morphine, especially in older patients who are more prone to side effects. The trial involved 224 adults undergoing hip replacement at a French hospital.
