New hip pain block could get patients walking faster

NCT ID NCT06183541

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study compares two pain management methods for hip fracture surgery: standard multimodal analgesia versus a pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block. Researchers will measure pain scores, opioid use, how soon patients can walk, and hospital stay length. The goal is to see if the PENG block improves recovery and reduces side effects.
