Immunotherapy before lung cancer surgery shows promise in early trial

NCT ID NCT02818920

First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looked at whether giving the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab before and after surgery is safe and feasible for people with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer. 35 participants received two doses before surgery and four doses after. The main goal was to see if surgery could still happen on time. This approach aims to help the immune system better recognize and attack cancer cells.
