New drug may stop brain arteries from narrowing further after a stroke

Summary
This study tests whether the drug pemafibrate can prevent the worsening of narrowed brain arteries in people who have already had a stroke or mini-stroke and have high triglycerides. About 270 participants will be randomly assigned to take pemafibrate or not, in addition to standard stroke care. The main goal is to see if pemafibrate slows or stops artery narrowing over 12 months, which could lower the chance of another stroke.
