First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at 127 female athletes aged 16-40 to see how much they know about pelvic floor health and whether they experience pelvic floor problems. Researchers used questionnaires to measure knowledge, symptoms, and physical activity levels. The goal was to understand how sports type, training intensity, and personal factors relate to pelvic floor awareness and dysfunction.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could highlight gaps in pelvic floor awareness among female athletes and guide future education or prevention programs.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study with only 127 participants, so results may not apply to all athletes. It measures knowledge and symptoms, not treatment effects.
