Summary
This study looked at how different levels of pressure from a breathing machine (called PEEP) affect the optic nerve sheath diameter, which is a way to check pressure inside the skull. Researchers studied 105 adults having spine surgery while lying on their stomach. They measured the optic nerve sheath after surgery to see if 5 or 10 cmH2O of PEEP made a difference. The goal was to learn more about how ventilator settings might influence brain pressure during surgery.
