First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looked at 78 older adults (65+) having gallbladder surgery to see if different levels of pressure from the breathing machine (called PEEP) affect blood flow and brain function. Researchers measured blood flow in the body and brain, and tested memory and thinking before and after surgery. The goal was to find the safest breathing settings for elderly patients.
