Study reveals hidden dangers: second wave of allergic reactions in kids
NCT ID NCT07231393
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked back at the medical records of 67 children treated for anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction) in a hospital emergency department over 10 years. The goal was to find out how long doctors watched them, how often a second wave of symptoms (biphasic reaction) occurred, and what factors raised that risk. The findings will help create safer observation guidelines for children with life-threatening allergies.
