What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
PEA (palmitoylethanolamide), a natural supplement similar to compounds in the body that may reduce nerve pain
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, non-drug option to relieve painful nerve symptoms caused by chemotherapy.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase pilot trial with only 88 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The supplement may not work better than a placebo.
