Light therapy offers new hope for esophageal cancer patients

Summary

This study tests a treatment called photodynamic therapy (PDT) for people whose superficial esophageal cancer has come back or remained after prior treatments. Patients receive a drug that makes cancer cells sensitive to light, then a laser is used to destroy them. The goal is to see how many patients have their tumors completely disappear by day 56. About 198 adults aged 18-80 will take part.
