Patients take control: who does sedation better - you or your doctor?
NCT ID NCT06451380
Summary
This study compared two approaches to sedation during arm surgery: letting patients control their own sedation versus having an anesthesiologist control it. Researchers enrolled 70 adults having orthopedic arm surgery to see which method led to higher patient satisfaction. Patients were randomly assigned to either control their own sedation medication or have the doctor control it, then rated their experience.
