Smart scales could slash hospital stays for rare heart disease patients
NCT ID NCT05098665
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tests whether daily weight monitoring at home can help people with ATTR cardiac amyloidosis avoid hospital stays. The condition causes fluid buildup that leads to heart failure, and weight gain is an early warning sign. Participants will either use a remote scale with phone check-ins from a doctor or receive standard care. The goal is to see if this simple approach reduces heart-related hospitalizations and deaths.
