Hidden risk? study links partner violence to dangerous blood clots
NCT ID NCT05890924
Summary
This study investigated whether experiencing intimate partner violence increases the risk of developing serious blood clots for women taking combined oral contraceptive pills. Researchers compared 997 women who had a blood clot while on birth control to similar women on birth control who did not have a clot. The goal was to understand if partner violence should be considered a potential risk factor for this dangerous medical condition.
