New surgical technique aims to protect facial nerves during tumor removal
NCT ID NCT07185542
Summary
This study compared two surgical methods for removing benign parotid gland tumors. Researchers wanted to see if a less invasive approach (intracapsular parotidectomy) could reduce complications like facial nerve damage while being as effective as the traditional surgery (superficial parotidectomy). The trial involved 120 adults with confirmed benign tumors to measure surgical outcomes, complication rates, and tumor recurrence.
