New brain scan could sharply improve Parkinson's diagnosis

Summary
This study tested a new type of brain scan (PET) to see if it can tell the difference between Parkinson's disease and essential tremor as well as the current standard scan (SPECT). 152 adults with either condition received both scans. The goal was to see if the newer, potentially more convenient PET method is at least as accurate for diagnosis.
