First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This early-stage trial tests whether it is safe and possible to implant a small piece of a patient's own nerve tissue into a key brain area during deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery for Parkinson's disease. Ten participants will be followed for at least a year, with lifelong annual check-ups. The goal is to see if this added step can be done reliably without causing harm.
