Blood clues may reveal best candidates for Parkinson's brain surgery

Summary
This study aims to find proteins and genetic material in the blood that can predict how well a person with Parkinson's disease will respond to deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery. Researchers will collect blood and leftover brain tissue from 30 participants undergoing DBS, and track their symptoms over time. The goal is to better understand why some people improve more than others, which could help doctors choose the best candidates for this treatment in the future.
