Can simple side steps help Parkinson's patients stay on their feet?
NCT ID NCT05906875
Summary
This small study explored whether adding a side-stepping exercise program to an existing Parkinson's exercise class was practical and helpful. Five participants with mid-to-late stage Parkinson's did the side-stepping exercises at least twice a week for eight weeks. Researchers measured their balance, walking ability, and confidence to see if the extra exercises could reduce their risk of falling.
