Parent power: feeding preemies boosts bedside bonding

NCT ID NCT05272956

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested if letting parents feed their premature baby with a syringe (under supervision) encourages them to spend more time in the neonatal unit compared to using a feeding pump. 72 premature babies born between 30 and 34 weeks took part. The goal was to see if simple involvement in feeding could increase parent presence.
