Parents step in to help NICU babies learn to feed

NCT ID NCT07060573

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether parents can be trained to give mouth exercises to preterm babies in the NICU to improve their sucking ability. About 32 babies will be split into two groups: one gets exercises from a therapist, the other from their own parents. The goal is to see if parent-led care works just as well, which could help hospitals with limited staff.
