Could a drug combo save organs after deadly aortic tear?

NCT ID NCT06966687

First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving two drugs—ulinastatin and thymosin α1—right after emergency surgery for a torn aorta can lower the risk of severe inflammation and organ failure. About 200 adults will receive the treatment to see if it helps prevent complications like lung, kidney, or heart failure. The goal is to improve recovery and reduce deaths after this life-threatening event.
