New approach aims to help dementia patients get the palliative care they need

NCT ID NCT05942040

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at why people with dementia and their families often don't accept community-based palliative care, which focuses on comfort and quality of life. Researchers created informational materials and a way to personalize how that information is shared. They then tested this approach with 301 Medicare Advantage members to see if it increased the number of people who chose palliative care.
