Summary

This study tested a program called UPLIFT-AD that brings palliative care—a type of care focused on comfort and quality of life—into nursing homes for people with Alzheimer's disease. Over 1,300 residents, their families, and nursing home staff took part. The program trained staff in comfort care and provided access to specialist consultations. The goal was to reduce pain, anxiety, and other symptoms, and improve satisfaction with care.
