New pain block study aims to cut opioid use in gallbladder surgery

Summary

This study compares two types of nerve blocks (retrosuperior costotransverse ligament block vs. erector spinae block) to see which provides better pain relief after laparoscopic gallbladder removal. The goal is to reduce the need for strong opioid painkillers and improve patient comfort. The study will enroll 80 adults aged 21-64 who are scheduled for elective gallbladder surgery.
