Summary

This study is testing whether adding a low-dose sedative medication to standard pain control helps reduce the need for strong opioid painkillers after major spinal fusion surgery in teenagers with scoliosis. Researchers want to see if this approach leads to fewer side effects like nausea and drowsiness. The study will involve about 160 teens who are scheduled for this specific back surgery.
