First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested whether a nerve block called the erector spinae plane block could reduce pain and opioid use after weight-loss surgery in 60 super obese patients (BMI over 50). Patients received either the nerve block or standard pain medication. The goal was to see if the block provides better pain control and lowers the risk of breathing problems from opioids.
