First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a special nerve block (called a rectointercostal fascial plane block) can help control pain after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, a type of weight-loss surgery. Fifty-six adults with severe obesity took part. The goal was to see if the block reduces the need for strong painkillers (opioids) in the first 24 hours after surgery.
