New combo treatment aims to ease pain after breast cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07022353
Summary
This study tested a new approach to manage pain after mastectomy (breast removal) surgery. Researchers compared a standard nerve block procedure to the same procedure plus a single dose of a pain medication called tizanidine, given before surgery. The goal was to see if the combination could provide better and longer-lasting pain relief for 90 patients, potentially reducing the need for strong opioid painkillers after the operation.
