Breathing pure oxygen shows promise for healing radiation damage

NCT ID NCT07422168

Summary

This study tested whether breathing pure oxygen in a special pressurized chamber helps heal severe tissue damage caused by previous radiation cancer treatments. Thirty-nine adults with radiation injuries like poor wound healing or tissue death received multiple oxygen therapy sessions. Researchers measured whether symptoms improved and how well patients tolerated the treatment.
