First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looked at 56 varicose vein patients having spinal anesthesia to see how the level of numbness affects their need for extra oxygen. Researchers used a new tool called the Oxygen Reserve Index (ORi) that can warn of low oxygen earlier than standard monitors. The goal was to find better ways to keep oxygen levels safe during surgery.
