Oxygen levels during surgery may predict dangerous leaks
NCT ID NCT07099820
First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at 100 adults having planned laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer. Researchers measured oxygen delivery to tissues during the operation to see if low levels were linked to a higher risk of anastomotic leaks (a serious complication where the surgical connection fails to heal). The goal was to better understand how to prevent this complication in the future.
