New balloon could keep blocked airways open longer

Summary
This early-stage trial tests a special balloon coated with the drug paclitaxel to treat benign (non-cancerous) airway blockages. The balloon is inflated to open the narrowed airway, and the drug may help prevent it from closing again. The study includes 45 adults with severe airway narrowing and will check for safety and how long the airway stays open.
