Summary

This trial tests a program called OUTDOOR-FIT, designed to help mildly frail older adults become more physically active. Participants attend weekly workshops, use senior-friendly outdoor exercise equipment, and get support from volunteers and a mobile app. The goal is to see if this approach improves physical activity, confidence, mental well-being, and reduces loneliness, compared to usual care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
A digitally supported outdoor physical activity program combining workshops, outdoor exercise facilities, volunteer support, and a mobile app.
What this could lead to
If effective, this program could offer a practical, scalable way to help mildly frail older adults stay active, reduce fall risk, and improve mental well-being and social connection.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small trial, and results may not apply to all older adults. Success depends on participants' engagement and ability to use the app and attend sessions.
