New drug aims to quiet cough in lung scarring disease

Summary

This study tested a drug called orvepitant to see if it can reduce chronic coughing in people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a lung scarring disease. 80 adults with IPF and a persistent cough participated. The study compared orvepitant to a placebo to measure changes in cough severity using a daily rating scale.
