Tumor avatars could personalize chemo for kids with rare cancers

NCT ID NCT07528079

First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether growing a child's tumor cells in the lab (called organoids) can help doctors pick the most effective chemotherapy. It includes 30 children aged 1 to 18 with certain soft tissue sarcomas that have come back or not responded to prior treatment. The goal is to see if this personalized approach leads to better tumor shrinkage and longer control of the disease.
