Heart procedure vs. placebo: which really eases chest pain?

NCT ID NCT05142215

First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at 50 people with stable angina and a completely blocked heart artery. They were already on standard medications. Half got a procedure to open the blockage (CTO PCI), and half got a placebo procedure. The goal was to see if the procedure actually reduces chest pain more than the placebo. The study was double-blinded, so neither patients nor doctors knew who got the real procedure.
