First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested an oral version of the drug azacitidine (CC-486) in 11 elderly patients with higher-risk myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) who had already improved with injectable azacitidine. The goal was to see if the oral pill could safely maintain that improvement and make treatment easier by avoiding frequent hospital visits. The study focused on safety, maintaining response, and quality of life.
