First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares different support strategies to help people who inject drugs in rural areas start and continue taking PrEP, a daily pill that prevents HIV. Over 400 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either peer counseling or standard education plus text reminders. The goal is to find which approach works best for getting people on PrEP and keeping them on it for at least six months.
