New study aims to reduce risky procedures for bile duct stone patients

Summary
This study looks at better ways to diagnose bile duct stones, a common but serious condition. Researchers will check if changes in liver enzyme levels can help decide who truly needs a procedure called ERCP, which carries risks. The goal is to spare patients from unnecessary procedures while still catching all cases. About 2000 adults with suspected bile duct stones will be included.
