New MRI technique cuts through metal glare for hip replacement patients

NCT ID NCT04875884

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study aims to see if a modified MRI technique can reduce the distortion caused by metal hip implants, giving clearer images. About 22 adults with a painful hip replacement will get both a standard and a modified MRI. The goal is to help doctors see the area around the implant better, which could improve diagnosis and treatment planning.
